This pass weekend lots of major things happened in the running community as well as me winning a couple of prizes at my running club.
On Saturday morning Eluid Kipchoge attempted to be the first person to break the two hour marathon, surprise to no one he successfully broke it in style with 41 pace makers, I was not one of the pace makers but I was a supporter that was backing him from the minute he decided to challenge himself to it. Truly inspirational work from the most humble guy ever.
Later that day it was my running clubs prize giving, me going into it not expecting to win any trophies at all because it was not my best year but to my surprise I left with 5 trophies which were Junior Male of the year(6th time), Overall Junior of the year, 10km Road champ(2 time), 15km Road champ(2nd time) and the 21km road champ. I really could not have achieved any of these trophies if it wasn't for ALL the people supporting me through all my ups and downs, So thank you all so much.
The weekend thrills did not end there because a world record was broken and it was the women marathon record by Brigid Kosgei.
This was a very good weekend for running.
