About Me

My relationship with running was inspired by wanting to achieve success. My primary school years at WPPS I was interested in soccer and running.

In grade 7, 2012 on weekends I did the 5km road running races. Getting to high school I decided that as soccer was not offered as an extra mural activity an individual sport would become my thing.

In 2015 I qualified in Cross Country to represent my district in the Provisionals.

In 2016, the 1st term I achieved half colours for Orienteering. In the 2nd term I achieved my Cross Country Full colours and qualified to represent my district in the Provisionals.  In the 3rd term I achieved my full colours in athletics for RPHS and in which I also qualified to represent my school in the PRESTIGE athletic meeting which made the first ever athlete of the year for athletics.

In 2017,   the 1st term I achieved half colours for Orienteering. In the 2nd term I achieved my Cross Country Full colours and qualified to represent my district in the Provisionals.  In the 3rd term I achieved my half colours in athletics for RPHS.

In 2018 I started studying Coaching Science at ETA college where I managed to get my First Aid level 1, SAFA D-licence, Boksmart, World Rugby Level 1,  Athletics South Africa(ASA) level 1, Hockey level 0 and KFC mini cricket as well as a Higher certificate in Coaching Science.

After several 5km road races which had become an easy run, I, in June 2013 decided to tackle my 1st 10km which I ran in a time of 51min.
I believe that practice makes perfect and with regular training my times reduced.
In 2014 I was running 10km in an average time of 42min, 2015 at 39min, 2016 my average time was 38min and 2017 I managed to run 37minutes on the Jackie Gibson race on 2 April.

My best time on a 15km race is 1h04minutes.
My best time on a 5km is 17 minutes.
My best time on a 10km is 36 minutes.
2018 was the year for me to start doing 21kms and I clocked 1hr29mins as my personal best

People ask why I run. I say “If you have to ask you will never understand”. It is something only those select few know. Those who put themselves through pain, but deep down know how good it feels.
