Diary of a Runner: Time Trials

Last night was the first of five time trial challenges at my running club, Roodepoort Athletics Club which starts at 18:00 on the first Wednesday of the month but this one was on the last Wednesday of the month because of various reasons. The purpose of the challenge is to run as fast as you can over 4 kilometres and the first of the 5 events is where you set the time you have to beat every time you do the challenge over 5 months at the end of all 5 events, you get a shirt with the time you averaged over all the events. For me I am using this challenge to push for a sub 13 minutes and to improve my time of 15 minutes 27 seconds from last night.

The run went off to a good start but then I started to get fatigued after the halfway mark which forced me to slow down a bit but I still managed to place 3rd and the two athletes in front of me are two strong and fast athletes, so I applaud them for the hard work they have put in. #SheraazRuns  #DiaryofaRunner
